Spring Break is right around the corner, so it’s time to start heating up that gumbo pot for our annual cook-off! Gumbo is the official state dish of Louisiana and there are a ton of different ways to make it. If you don’t have a family recipe to work from, it can be daunting to figure out what all to put into this stew because there’s no one way to make gumbo! We’ve scoured Pinterest to find six good recipes to serve as inspiration for all the different types of tasty gumbos you can make for our Spring Break cook-off!

Evolving Table’s Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo

This recipe claims to be nothing other than authentically Cajun! Based on a favorite restaurant in New Orleans, it combines shrimpand sausage with the holy trinity (aka bell pepper, onion, and celery) and tons of herbs which all simmer together in a big dutch oven. Now you have some inspiration, but don’t forget to experiment! Put your own twist and spice into your gumbo pot to stew up something great!
