5 Doable New Year’s Resolutions for the Whole Family
Every year, you make a resolution or two for yourself, but how often do you make resolutions as a family? During the holiday season, we’re spoiled with family time but we all know how hard it can be to squeeze in quality time throughout the year. This New Year’s Eve, make at least one resolution as a family that will bring you closer together.
Take a Phone Break
That’s right, we said it! Pick an hour at least once a week where everyone agrees to leave their phones on the charger. If you want to kick it up a notch, take a break from ALL SCREENS! That means TVs, tablets, laptops, and even portable gaming devices. Doesn’t have to be all day – just start with an hour.
Cook a Meal Together
Pick one meal a week to make together, like Saturday morning breakfast. Anyone can master pancakes! Not only will this become your favorite new tradition, but it will teach your kids how to cook.
Have a Weekly Game Night
Dust off the old board games or opt for a new app-based game that you can play as a family. Try not to get too competitive and keep it light!
We’re lucky to live in a state that gives us beautiful weather all year round! Well, okay, maybe not February. Grab your sunscreen and do something outdoors. It can be as simple as playing catch, going to the park, or even taking advantage of your local community’s outdoor events.
Go On an Adventure
At least once a year, you should try to take a family getaway! Find a place that will give your kids a little independence, but also have plenty of opportunities to do things together. We happen to know the perfect place…?
Happy New Year!
