Warm Hearts by the Fire: Valentine’s Day Campfire Tales
Gather around the campfire & celebrate Valentine’s Day with sweet, heartwarming stories the whole family will enjoy. From tales of friendship & kindness to stories about sharing love, this cozy campfire experience is the perfect way to slow down, snuggle up, & make special memories together under the stars.
The Marshmallow Share
One chilly Valentine’s night, two campers reached into a bag of marshmallows to find only one left. The fire crackled softly as they looked at each other, unsure what they should do next. After a moment, they smiled & decided to split it in half, stacking it with chocolate & graham crackers to make an extra-special s’more. As they shared it by the fire, the flames flickered higher, as if cheering them on for choosing kindness.
Get kids involved:
- Ask kids: What would YOU do with the last marshmallow?
- Let them suggest other ways the campers could share.
- Have everyone pretend to build the “perfect s’more” with their hands.
The Heart-Shaped Ember
As the campfire sizzled & crackled, a tiny ember floated into the air & glowed in the shape of a heart before disappearing into the night sky. The campers gasped & gathered closed, feeling warm & happy. One by one, they whispered kind thoughts & loving wished into the fire, believing the embers would carry them into the stars.
Ways kids can join in:
- Have kids whisper gentle “ember wishes” into the night air
- Ask: Who would you send your wish to?
- Let the kids describe what shape the next embers might be
The Lantern of Love
A family sits by a campfire with a lantern glowing softly beside them. Each person takes turns holding the lantern & shared one kind thing about someone else in the circle. With every sweet word spoken, the lantern seemed to shine brighter, lighting the campsite with warmth & smiles. By the end, everyone felt closer & wrapped in love.
How kids can participate:
- Pass around a real or paper lantern
- Let the kids say one nice thing about someone near by
- Ask: What makes the lantern glow brighter?
